Are You Worried About Mold In Your Home? Our Specialists Are Here to Help.

Mold can trigger severe allergic reactions and can be fatal for someone with an underlying respiratory condition. If you are worried because the mold in your home is spreading like wildfire, call us to schedule a thorough inspection, followed by effective remediation, to get your home back to being safe again.

We conduct thorough assessments using advanced tools and best practices to identify conditions favorable for indoor mold growth or to determine the presence, extent, amount, or type of mold or suspected mold in a building.

After recording visual observations of concerns and taking on-site measurements, including temperature, humidity, and moisture levels, we will collect air, surface, and/or bulk samples for laboratory mold analysis.

Trusted Mold Assessment Report By InterNACHI Certified Mold Inspector

Cary Morrell will be your single point of contact throughout the inspection and remediation process. Cary is licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to perform the duties of a Mold Assessment Consultant #MAC1931. Cary is also an InterNACHI certified mold inspector and an IAC2 Certified Indoor Air Consultant and Mold Expert.

Once the lab results come through, Cary will map out a mold remediation protocol, including evaluation and selection of appropriate remediation methods, personal protective equipment (PPE), engineering controls (containment of remediation areas), and project layout.

You will also receive a Certificate of Mold Damage Remediation, which can be valuable if you are trying to get your property on the market.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do You know if it’s mold or mildew?

Although mold and mildew are similar in many ways, they are different types of fungi and are often different in color and texture. Mold is generally black, green, red, blue, or yellow, while mildew is usually gray or white.

Mold can be harmful to humans, while mildew presents no serious threat. Neither is in the plant or animal family, and both are considered fungi with enzymes to break down organisms. They both reproduce by spores. They both become a problem when they start thriving in our homes.

If you cannot differentiate one from the other, let us look at it and give you a clear picture of the problem, followed by an appropriate solution.

Can Mold In Home Affect Health?

People who are sensitive to mold can experience certain symptoms upon exposure, such as nasal stuffiness, eye irritation, wheezing, or skin irritation. Some people, such as those with serious mold allergies, may have more severe reactions, such as fever and shortness of breath. Some people with chronic lung illnesses, such as obstructive lung disease, may develop mold infections in their lungs.

In 2004, the Institute of Medicine (IOM) found evidence linking indoor exposure to mold with upper respiratory tract symptoms, like cough and wheezing in otherwise healthy people. They also found suggestive evidence linking indoor mold exposure and respiratory illness in otherwise healthy children.

Given how dangerous mold exposure can be, it is recommended to call a specialist for inspection as soon as you notice early signs of mold. Morrell Inspect Houston is here to help.
